Audible Standard is a monthly membership where you can select one new audiobook each month from the entire Audible collection of 900,000 titles without using credits. With an Audible Standard monthly subscription, you can:

• Select credit-free monthly audiobook: You can select 1 audiobook a month from the entire Audible collection of 900,000 titles and grow your Library over time, and it’s yours to keep in your Library as long as your membership is active.
• Access podcasts: Unlimited listening to podcasts and early access to new episodes of select shows. The access to podcasts is complementary in addition to your monthly selection.
• Listen anywhere: You can download titles in your Library and listen to them without being connected to the internet.
• Purchase titles: You can buy any audiobook using your credit/debit card and keep it forever, even after cancellation. Any unused credit from your previous Premium membership or gift credits can still be used for purchases.

Note: The ability to select a monthly audiobook doesn’t roll over to the next month. This means if you miss a month, you’ll still only have 1 monthly audiobook selection the next month. Be sure to make a new selection each month.

How do I sign up for Audible Standard membership?

You can sign up for the Audible Standard membership in the Audible app and on the Audible site. 

On the Audible website

To sign up for Audible Standard:

1. Go to the Audible site.
2. Select Get started.
3. Select Sign up for Standard. You may be asked to sign in with your Amazon account.
4. Select Start now.

Notes: 

• If you sign up with a 30-day free trial, your Audible Standard membership will automatically renew and you’ll be charged the regular monthly price after 30 days. You can cancel monthly from your Account details page.
• Customers with an App Store or Google Play Audible membership can only cancel their plan through the App Store or Google Play.

In the app

To sign up for Audible Standard:

1. Go to your Profile.
2. Select the Settings gear icon.
3. Under Membership, select Details.
4. Select Sign up for Standard.
5. Select Start now.

How do I sign up for Audible Standard trial?

You can sign up for a 30-day free trial if you haven't been an Audible member or taken a free trial in the last 12 months. 

On the Audible website

1. Go to the Audible site.
2. Select Try Standard free. You may be asked to sign in with your Amazon account.
3. Select Try for 0.00 € to confirm your subscription.

In the app

1. Open the Audible app.
2. Sign in with your Amazon account.
3. Select Try Standard free.
4. Select Try for 0.00 € to confirm your subscription.

After 30 days, your membership will automatically renew and you'll be charged the regular monthly price. You can cancel monthly from your Account Details page.

Please note:

• While you won't be charged for your free trial, the trial membership is converted to a paid membership plan at the end of the trial period. You can change your membership status at any time through your Account Details page.

How do I switch my Audible Standard membership?

As an Audible Standard member you can switch to other Audible plans from the Audible site, through the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store. For more details, please visit Switch plans.

How do I cancel my Audible Standard membership?

If you signed up in the Audible app through the App Store, you can manage your subscription from your app settings. For more details, please see Manage App Store subscription and Manage Google Play Store subscription.

If you signed up on the Audible site, you can manage your plan from your Membership Details. For more details, please see Cancel membership.

Note: When you cancel your membership, you'll lose access to all titles that you received through your monthly selections at the end of your final billing cycle. You'll still have access to titles purchased with credits or cash.

What is a monthly audiobook selection or monthly title?

Monthly audiobook selections are any title you select as part of your Audible Standard membership benefits. With Audible Standard membership, you can select 1 audiobook a month and grow your Library collection over time.

Monthly audiobook selections are available in your Library until you cancel. Once you cancel, you will no longer have access to titles you selected with this membership.

If you miss a monthly selection, your ability to select 1 monthly audiobook doesn’t roll over to the next month.

What happens to my monthly selections if I cancel my membership?

You can still listen to monthly audiobooks until the end of your final billing cycle. After your plan is cancelled, any monthly audiobooks in your Library will have a 🔒 lock icon next to them and you will see a message that a title is no longer available if you try to play it.

However, you can still purchase that title if you'd like to own it or become a member again to regain access. If no purchase options are available, we no longer carry the title.

Can I return or exchange my monthly audiobook selections?

Since monthly audiobook selections aren’t purchases, they aren’t eligible for return or exchange. If you’re having an issue playing or listening to your monthly selection, you can try these playback troubleshooting steps.

What if I don't select a monthly audiobook one month?

If you miss a month, your ability to select 1 monthly audiobook doesn’t roll over to the next month. You can always see the date by which you need to make your monthly audiobook selection on your Membership Details page on the Audible site or in your Profile in the app.

Are podcasts free with Audible Standard membership?

Audible Standard membership includes access to our podcast collection. These ad-free podcasts are available in addition to your monthly audiobook selection, and you'll have early access to new episodes of select shows as they're released.
